Roads & Infrastructure

Quality infrastructure is essential for a nation's economy to thrive, and for the freedom and ease of daily life.  An ASP government, by reinvesting public funds back into roads, air and sea ports, utilities and other infrastructure is actually doing what it is supposed to be doing.  The government has no business in trying to control and regulate every facet of people lives, and they have no business in regulating the free operation of the market.

The government's job is to wisely invest public funds to provide services and utilities that make the daily lives of all Australians (individuals, families and businesses) better and more productive.

We will initiate, fund, and head up the greatest infrastructure and nation building projects that this country has seen since the Snowy River Project.  We will have the funds and the initiative to do what must be done for the sake of our prosperous future.  In our provision of infrastructure for the people we will do the following:

  • An ASP stewardship will commence construction of the greatest water pipeline ever built from the northern water soaked regions to the dryer southern areas of Australia.  We will bring an abundance of water to where it is needed, and this investment, this capital will be in the hands of the Australian people, not for the profit of private interests.  The pumping stations can be powered by new solar collector power stations that take advantage of the strong sunshine that bakes the outback of Australia.  Such a massive project will provide thousands of jobs, and help stimulate the economy.
  • Along the route this pipeline takes, we will construct beautiful new towns and cities in the outback, as we make our push to reclaim much of the desert areas for agriculture, and for population growth potential.  We will invest heavily in this effort to green our deserts, which is perfectly possible.  One hundred years ago, Israel was known to be nothing but dry and barren desolation.  Yet with advanced agricultural know-how, the deserts were reclaimed, and now Israel is a major producer of some of the finest agricultural produce in the world.  With time and effort, we too can work towards making so much of our dry desert areas green and profitable, for the benefit of all Australians.
  • The privatisation of publicly owned utilities is also a great evil that has been done against the hard working Australians who paid for and built these utilities long ago.  Privatisation has only lead to a reduction in quality, and a rise in prices for these essential services such as gas and electricity, as these private companies are duty bound to increase profits for their shareholders. All infrastructure and utilities that are essential to life, and the productivity of the economy should be owned by the people, for the people. An ASP government, as good and faithful stewards, will re-nationalise these utilities, and re-invest the funds required to properly maintain and upkeep these services, while selling the water, gas and electricity to customers at cost!
  • As a natural positive consequence of our economic and taxation policies, government will be incentivised to develop high quality roads, hospitals, paths, parks and other infrastructure that will benefit the wider community. We ought to consider the building-up of our rural areas and country towns to support a growing population. We should not be over-populating already congested cities where new infrastructure has not been provided.
  • We will build a high-tech and truly high speed rail-line to connect all major cities around Australia.  The public will enjoy travelling interstate on these comfortable high speed trains, the service of which shall be provided at a very low cost, as this infrastructure will be collectively owned by the people, for the people; not for any corporation to monopolise and charge exorbitant prices.
  • In addition to building the great north to south pipeline, the Australian Sovereignty Party is not afraid to build more dams as are needed.  It is ridiculous to argue that the building of dams has an overall negative impact on the environment.  Consider, with more dams, with more water collection and storage, local councils, schools and home owners are once again free to water their gardens, parks, sports fields and the like where currently they are withering away and dying for lack of hydration.  Particularly suburban areas become green once again, which has a positive affect not only on the environment, but on the quality and health of people's lives.
  • We will encourage Australian car manufacturers to design and produce home grown fully electric vehicles by installing recharging stations and infrastructure in all urbanised areas.  We do this not because we believe it is necessary to reduce CO2 gasses, but because it will reduce particulate matter which is the real pollution generated by cars and industry.  The air quality is about reducing particulates and other toxic fumes that hurt the environment and affect the health of all living creatures.
