We, at the Australian Sovereignty Party, honour our elders, and find that the wealth of experience and time-tempered wisdom that they can offer to society is invaluable.

The ASP commends and appreciates the people who have contributed to building Australia into the beautiful and prosperous country it is today. In recognition of their achievements and efforts, retirement should be a time to look forward to where more opportunities and new and wonderful experiences await. We hope to see many of our citizens (able or disabled) choose to provide further assistance to the community where their skills and wisdom can be celebrated and passed onto where it is needed the most; teaching respect to the young, mentoring, assisting community centres, participating in outdoor activities such as horticulture, garden and parks maintenance, scientific research or providing technical and professional industry training services etc. Whether full or part time participation, it is up to the individual and appropriate remuneration will be provided alongside the pension without means testing or taxation.

A test of a people is how it behaves toward the old. It is easy to love children. Even tyrants and dictators make a point of being fond of children. But the affection and care for the old, the incurable, the helpless are the true gold mines of a culture.

Our senior citizens will always remain proud members of society and deserve our appreciation and our respect. They must be protected at all times and feel safe among our community.

The Australian Sovereignty Party will do the following:

• Re-evaluate and adjust the current pensions to a rate that is more representative of the current economic conditions to eliminate financial hardships.
• Make 100% funds available to disabled citizens regardless of age requiring mobility equipment, wheelchair access ramps, home modifications and temperature control systems such as air conditioners (for those living at home).
• Increase subsidies for all utilities (gas/electricity, water, and telecommunications). Council rates will be eliminated pursuant to our Taxation Policy.
• Offer senior citizens the opportunity to remain in the workforce without means testing to assist children at primary schools and child minding centres to mentor and improve discipline and etiquette standards.
• Increase resources and funding for natural therapies that can replace pharmacological dependence.
• Increase the penalties for perpetrators who target the elderly.
• Ensure free public transport to all seniors and disability pensioners with heavily subsidised taxi fares.
• Provide better conditions and remuneration for family related carers with periodic annually funded respite breaks.
• Impose severe penalties and jail sentences for nursing home and aged care facilities operators to eradicate breaches of conduct and improper or indecent management practices.

The Australian Sovereignty Party aims to substantially improve the lifestyle and quality of life of our senior and disabled citizens. All aged care facilities and retirement villages will be heavily scrutinised and regularly audited for the quality of services they provide well beyond the current system. We believe our senior citizens are a valuable resource that can play an important role towards the development of society by voluntarily participating in the education of our children. The younger generation of our era especially adolescent teenagers are lacking in guidance and have poor disciplinary attitudes resulting from a vacuum in appropriate role models and strict guidelines in behavioural tolerance. We believe the best way for a young mind to develop beneficial habits can be achieved by restoring the teachings of respect back in the days before political correctness eliminated consequence and made everything too easy for the student.

Employment opportunities will be available for seniors who wish to mentor the younger generation to instil discipline and improve behavioural tendencies via educational programmes within primary school curriculums. There will be no means testing or taxes to apply to any retiree drawing a pension who wishes to continue to remain in the workforce. We want a society that respects its senior citizens and believe they can reshape the attitudes of our children towards a decent, more honourable way of thinking with proper disciplines that will enhance their lives.

No expense should be spared in providing our elderly citizens with the very best care, and the Australian Sovereignty Party will do everything possible to make a significant improvement in the quality of the lives of our elderly and disabled citizens. Moreover, we will restructure the medication system administered to reduce any possible harm causing drugs which contain unpleasant side effects that may be aiding their body’s deterioration. The elderly in public care will be healthier and happier than ever before under an ASP stewardship, and we will also assist them to re-engage in society in a way that benefits everyone.
