My name is Nik Maljkovic, and I am the President of the ASP. I have lived in Melbourne since emigrating from the former Yugoslav Republic with my family in 1970.

Initially, I worked in aviation as a pilot instructor, and left the industry to pursue a career in marketing where my interest in politics began to develop.

After 25 years of meeting and communicating with many people from all walks of life, it really got me thinking about the way this great nation is being governed, our economy, our way of life, and what is on the minds of the Australian people. Everyone has something to say about the current state of Australian politics; so, being in the marketing industry for some time has been an excellent learning experience for me. Some of the attributes I’ve acquired and developed are interpersonal skills, strong verbal and non-verbal communication, a positive attitude, honesty, and many other beneficial traits. My background and my experience will serve me well in my desire to foster in good governance; by, and for the people.

I believe that our current (and previous) government(s) have demonstrated a lack of vision towards it’s responsibilities in safeguarding the prosperity of our future. They have had little or no concern for the Australian people, and the way the people would truly wish to be represented. As long as they remain complicit with private interests, and are not accountable to the people, we will never see an honest Parliament, and we will never experience the prosperity and abundance we could have manifested.

If we want to take back our Democracy, we need to become more vocal, and get involved in the political realm. Our Democracy gives us the right to decide our future. There’s a saying; “when the people fear the government, we have tyranny. When the government fears the people, we have liberty”! Until now, complacency and apathy have prevailed, and have let Parliament get to where it is now. It’s OUR fault for not being active. It’s OUR fault for not expressing our will!

This is why I joined the ASP. I call on all Australian’s to voice their discontent to end irresponsible, unaccountable and disrespectful government! For the sake of a better Australia, we must unite together to demand an end to corruption, government lies, manipulation and corporate greed. We must stop blindly following the same old path to a futureless reality by constantly voting for the Liberal/ Labor duopoly! It’s time for a political party with more intelligence and common-sense to step in to restore decency, fairness to the Australian public, honesty and respect for our way of life.

The Australian Sovereignty Party is a people’s representative Party that exercises the will of the people - how a true democracy was originally designed.
